Ever since I first saw Opaline's design, I felt somethings were really off. The mane style mostly bothered me. It works better in 2D imo.

As part of the redesign, I changed her backstory to be formally a unicorn who was obsessed with the legends of alicorns and became determined to achieve this high status for herself. She managed to grow her own wings through experimenting with magic she has stolen over time and her mane has taken on the style of the supposed ethereal manes of the ancient alicorns.


She's still verbally and sometimes physically abusive to poor Misty, her apprentice/slave.
