Part four of Broken Wings, in which Alex has another run-in with Rainbow Dash at Sweet Apple Acres.

Turns out a little bit of compositing and post-processing goes a long way. I would have loved to use the hair simulation on all of the characters in this scene (especially Applejack), but due to performance limitations I was unable to get hair dynamics to work on more than two characters. The longer (and more technical) explanation is that closeup shots require a higher particle density to look decent, and that higher particle density results in a ridiculous amount of memory usage (24GB+ per frame) when building the BVH.
