Downy was a curious little filly who always wanted to fly, but grew up in in a family that lived like moles. After leaving Horseshoe Bay as a teenager, she wandered her way into Trottingham where she met Hang Glider. Their relationship was fast and messy, and after eight years with him, she broke it off. She is a crass, rude, angry old mare with a taste for drink and a habit of smoking. Her family's historical talent is carpentry, and just like the rest of them, she too is a carpenter. She worked for many years in construction in Ponyville and was set for life when the government (Twilight) bought out all of the original town, after which she resettled in a northern district of the larger city.
