In the picture, you can see the first meeting between Szarlotka and Selene. The old mare is, simply put, a racist pony. She hates bat ponies due to her biases and refuses to change her perspective, even after learning about Minty's traumatic past.



If you’d like to know more, here is a link to the family tree of my little universe. Over time, Selene develops a deeper connection with Szarlotka's son. The day Minty and Green Pom were supposed to get married, Sweet Apple — the eldest sibling — revealed everything to her side of the family, which is known for their controversial views and hatred toward bat ponies.

The ceremony was interrupted, and before Green Pom could jump in to defend his soon-to-be wife, his mother turned to Selene and said:



"You will NEVER be a part of this family."



Szarlotka's hair color is desaturated due to her old age and I added some skin markings that are also a sign of aging.
