Captain Moon Dancer stared in disbelief, her mouth agape at the poster in front of her. Her eyes wide with horror as she tried to process what she was seeing. Beside her, Captain Poptail had her hand to her chin, her head tilted as she too eyed up the poster.
“Dunno what the problem is, Moonie,” She said, “I think it looks great! It’ll be sure to bring in recruits!”
Moon’s eye twitched for a moment before she slowly turned her head to face her friend, rage and fury emanating from her face. “Great? GREAT?! I didn’t agree to this!”
Poppy ignored the mare as she continued to eye over the image. “I thought you did? At least, that’s what everyone thinks.”
“I said they could use me as a reference, cover my cutie mark and edit my noticeable features!” Moon replied, “Not, THIS!”
She gestured to the poster. It was a recruitment poster she had agreed to be the model for, but with strict conditions to make it so it was near impossible to tell it was her. However, that wasn’t the case. It was her, buck naked save her helmet and gauntlets in a tasteful, yet sexy, pose hugging her sword and smirking at the viewer, a twinkle in her eye.
“I still don’t see the problem,” Poppy retorted, “You have a great body and a great ass, why not flaunt it?”
Moon growled softly, blushing hard as a couple of guards walked past. Though she could’ve sword she heard them snicker under their breaths.
“Y-yes, but that’s beside the point!” she hissed, “T-these are going up everywhere! I dunno how I feel a-about ponies seeing me like this!”
Poppy giggled and slapped her back playfully, “Ah fuck ‘em. The princess signed off on this so who cares? Besides, I’m going to do one for the solar guard soon myself!”
“Wait, what?!” Moon spluttered
“Mhm, so I wouldn't worry about it. You and I are gunna bring in all the recruits!” Poppy grinned, giving her friend a confident thumbs up.
Moon felt a little better hearing that. However, it was still going to be awkward for the next few months, especially with all the new young recruits she’d have to face.
Still, the mare still wanted to know just how in the hell the unedited version made it to the printing press.
———
…Earlier that week…
“Are you sure that’s what she said?” a stallion asked, adjusting his glasses as he stood by a large printing machine.
“Of course, she had a change of heart and decided to be brave and bold enough to go for it and help the kingdom out.” A female voice replied.
The stallion shrugged and turned back to the machine, “Very well, Princess Cadance. I’ll get on it right away.”
“Thank you, Photo Copy,” Cadance replied with a little sweet smile before she turned away and headed out of the room.
Once alone, her sweet smile morphed quickly into a large shit-eating grin as she clapped her hands together and rubbed them feverishly.
“That’ll teach you, Night bitch,” she muttered to herself with a cackle, “and that’s not even the end of this.
The cackle began to increase in volume as the alicorn made her way through the halls, the sounds reverberating around her.
