Octavia leaning back dramatically while playing her cello, her mane flowing gracefully while she stares directly at the camera. Dramatic light borders her form.
I wanted to draw a more dynamic Tavi, and I wanted to make her mane longer and prettier. Much of this was shaded while intoxicated, which makes it messier but perhaps bolder and more striking than I would've done it otherwise. I like to think this is an idealized, nonexistent version of the Octavia I draw. "Younger Octavia" would not have the self-confidence on display here, and "Bitter Octavia" would not have the passion or inspiration to flow so freely. Perhaps this could also be a sort of advertisement or magazine cover, a false presentation of herself."
