Here's yet another thing I pointed out in Aurora's character description, is that since she's half vampire and half pony (dhampir), then she suffers from being both nocturnal and diurnal.


When she was younger, Luna combated this disability by singing lullabies. Luna has the power to send ponies to sleep through song. It is more effective over young ponies and foals, though. With that being said, when Aurora became a tween/teen (as depicted in the second illustration with her friend, Onyx), the lullabies stopped working (she got used to it). Additionally, she was still too young for stronger sleeping meds like Zolpidem. The doctors always played it safe and kept giving her melatonin, but that sure as hell didn't work all the time. It would only be effective if she hadn't taken it in a couple of days. Hence, there were times she had almost gone TWO WEEKS without full sleep (of course she probably napped and stuff, but they only lasted a couple of hours). However, due to her vampiric genes, she can function without sleep for a good 2 to 3 days.


I totally forgot another next-gen oc has a similar problem, Golden Russet – Aj and Caramel's son. 💀
