Backstory: Nico wasn't always a vampire. He was turned into one at the age of 13 by his mentor whom he trusted and looked up to. Because vampires were feared and discriminated at the time, Nico ran away from Canterlot and eventually found himself in Ponyville.



Many years later, he spent most of his time writing comics. He also befriended Vanilla Dream and became her caregiver. Upon meeting Holly Evergreen, another caregiver of Vanilla, Nico would butt heads with her at first. However, that changed when Nico saved Holly's life, to the point where the two developed feelings for each other, much to Vanilla's surprise. Nevertheless, Vanilla was happy that her two best friends were together.



Outside of caregiving, Nico and Holly have teamed up to become a duo of horror writers, and Nico's history is the reason why Holly developed an interest in vampires.

Fun fact: Nico was originally going to just be a unicorn, but I decided to make him a vampire.
