However Cogs soon found out that the colt had some knowledge of pumps and mechanical devices from his uncle who worked at a shipyard. So the mare inquired if the colt wanted to help her with fixing the pump. For his part Stone Mane turned out to be a useful assistant, and he knew his tools.
But through all of this Cogs kept wondering why the colt was spending time with her and not Applebloom. From the scuttlebutt she'd heard those two foals were apparently inseparable, so it seemed odd that the colt was spending time helping her. Maybe the filly had gone into town to run an errand? Maybe she was helping a family member elsewhere on the farm?
Nope.
And now Applebloom arrived to reclaim her wayward colt.
