I recently read the "Сhickenhawk." So there at the end of the book the main character, the author feels guilty for having participated in the destruction of Vietnam for an obscure political goal and eventually begins to sympathize with the enemy. For himself, he became a murderer. Eventually, he earned insomnia and post-traumatic stress disorder, obedient cause sunset of his career as a helicopter pilot.

So, I think Fluttershy or Flutterbat here feel somethink the same, that she became a mindless beast, Pavlov's dog accustomed to military discipline unconditional fulfillment of orders.
