"Huh? Oh, I don't know. Probably not? We didn't get the message until we had gotten into port." She says, unconcerned.
Emerald thinks that maybe if he starts by asking her about demons he can broach the subject about Pip, he asks if she has ever worked with demons before.
"Yeah. I dabbled in diabolism for a bit. Not really my thing. I don't really like to depend on others for power, especially when they try to swindle it out of you with tricky wording." Joyride says with a shrug, "Though I'd rather make contracts with demons than with any sort of pony of power… And quite a few demons are more pleasant besides."
Emerald asks why on earth she'd want to make contracts with demons more than ponies.
"So here is the thing, lil' perv. Diabolism 101. Demons can lie, cheat, and steal all they want… Until they have to come to making a contract of any sort. The reasons aren't well understood, but it has something to do with not wanting to piss off an even greater demonic power lest they be destroyed. That's why they try every trick in the book to insert technicalities and vagueness into their agreements." Joyride says with a nod.
