Fancy Pants: (Grumble) Still nothing…

Fleur de lis: Wee! Fly Mr Scragglepuss! Fly!

Fancy Pants: Fleur, be careful of the mud. You don't want Mr Scragglepuss to get dirty again, do you?

Fleur de Lis: Okay! [stomach growls] Fancy, I'm hungry. Are we eating soon?

Fancy Pants: Yes, just be a bit more patient, sis."



So as I stated before in a journal, my view on Fancy Pants and Fleur de Lis' relationship is that of siblings who are really close. Fleur adores her big brother. He's smart, cool and always looks after her. Even when they had nothing, he made sure she was fed and warm. Fancy adores his baby sister, basically taking on the role of big brother and father to her. The two of them were homeless orphans for a long time.

Here, Fancy has been begging for bits all morning, wanting to buy a loaf of stale bread from the baker. The baker wasn't kind, since he charged them even for his stalest bread, but he at least let them have the bread rather than tossing it out. Fleur is fairly distracted by her favorite doll, Mr Scragglepuss. He's her favorite in the whole wide world because her big brother made him for her.
