I’ve come to find that maybe I don’t belong here… no, no that won’t do…”
Pinkie Pie crumbles the stationary between her hooves and chucks it behind her, starting again with a new page.
Accumulated behind her was a mass of crumpled balls of paper, all of which contained discarded drafts of letters she had been wanting to leave for her sisters. But Pinkie simply couldn’t find the words she was looking for…
How could she tell them what she was about to do? How could she put it in just a form of paper and simply leave it there? How could she fit all of the things she wanted to say? Pinkie was lost… and she was saddened.
Maybe things were to be left unsaid…

Pinkie Pie is introduced to the universe in a saddened tale of lost identity, frustration and confusion.
Pinkie leaves the farm where she grew up after feeling completely discarded by her “parents”, and then finding that she actually shared barely any other traits/looks with any of her family.
When asking about her suspicions, she is promptly turned down, and the subject is never to be brought up again. This further reinforces Pinkie’s fears, and she can’t seem to find the way to tell her sisters that she was abandoning the life of hard labor and uncertainty.
Pinkie Pie leaves the rock farm in the middle of the night, and takes the next train out without a word. She didn’t much care where she landed, and it leads her straight to Ponyville where she now resides.
Pinkie Pie legally changes her name to “Pinkamena Diane” promptly afterward, and starts a new life under her new title…
