"I've been looking forward to unveiling this ship for a looooong time now!
Hehe, yes! In my canon, Scorpan and Twilight are a couple. It may seem strange, I know, but trust me, I've been developing this relationship for quite some time, and I've absolutely loved imaging their interactions/dynamics. The way I headcanon Scorpan is very complimentary to Twilight's own personality. I imagine Scorpan, at least, after all he's gone through, is a very scholarly adventurer with a great appreciation for Equestrian magic and culture. He's a worldly gargoyle, having traveled for many years alone after Tirek was imprisoned in Tartarus. His betrayal to his own brother has left him feeling guilty for all these years, but he knows it was a necessary ordeal. Becoming friends with Starswirl the Bearded and living among ponies for a short amount of time impacted his outlook on life deeply, making him a friendlier person and a curious observer. Scorpan returned to Equestria after many years to bring warning of the outside world's troubles (more on than later, by the way) to Princess Celestia and Luna, whom offered for him to stay and rest from his travels, to which he obliged. Soon, Scorpan was introduced to the two newest princesses, Cadance and, more importantly Twilight Sparkle. Of course, Twilight being Twilight, started geeking out when she met Scorpan because he had known Starswirl in person (hehe). Scorpan was charmed by the bookish princess, whom kept him company for many hours of the day, asking questions and vice versa, Scorpan wanting to know more of recent Equestrian events, and Twilight wanting to know of Equestria's past and how Starswirl was like. The two have a lot in common, an interest in magic and history, theories and worldly knowledge, etc. Soon enough, Twilight began to develop a crush on him, which left her very flustered and perplexed, much to the amusement of her friends, who gently pushed her to pursue him if she really liked him. Scorpan, too, had begun to feel certain affections for the young princess, but was hesitant to act upon them because of their different places in Equestria, Twilight being the Princess of Friendship and Scorpan, long since a banished prince to his own kingdom, Tambelon, now only a traveler. Scorpan was banished from his homeland and the throne after returning to Tambelon without Tirek, who was crown prince and popular in the kingdom, more so than Scorpan, as many did not believe Scorpan's story of what had happened and declared instead that he had gotten rid of his brother in an effort to assume the title of crown prince. Scorpan was forced to flee from his home, and has traveled the world ever since, not resenting his banishment, but saddened to never return home. Nonetheless, as the two get closer, Twilight finally works up the nerve to ask him out, and Scorpan agrees. The rest is pretty much history. Scorpan and Twilight form just another odd couple in Harmonyverse, but they're my absolute favorite of them all."
"Oh boy, that was long, sorry! I just have a lot of feelings for these two, and I've been dying to reveal this part of my canon for soooo loooong. Twipan isn't a ship I've ever seen in the fandom, and the more I thought of it, the more appealing it became to me, so much so that it's become one of my favorite ships, hehe. You'll definitely be seeing more of these two now that I've gotten this up! I loved designing Scorpan, that lion mane is an absolute joy for me to draw. Also, interesting tidbit: the small bell you see Scorpan using as a hair tie used to belong to Starswirl himself! Pan's kept it all these years in memory of his good friend."
"Alrighty, that's enough from me today. Enjoy, guys! More of these two (and their offspring!) soon enough!"
Art and Harmonyverse belong to me. MLP belongs to the respective owners.
