It wasn’t until the death of her parents that Bedlam truly realized how much she loved and cared about them. All those years of blowing them off and giving them sass, especially towards her mother, came rushing back to her in the form of crushing regret. It was too late to build a better relationship with them; all those opportunities were gone in the past.
Burgeon Flare didn’t want to see her wife so down-in-the-dumps like this. So she encouraged Bedlam to channel her regret over her parents into something positive, something to give her purpose. And she did. In honor of her mother, Bedlam developed a newfound appreciation for nature and its beauty, vowing to protect it from the industrialization and bigshot corporations that threatened it.
Bedlam was appointed head of the Nature Preservation Agency by Queen Firefly, and often sits in on meetings to create policy in its favor. However, she finds all this political junk extremely boring and unnecessary; after all, threatening to turn industrial CEOs into trees or populating their homes with invasive species are much more effective tactics. Nopony would mess with a powerful draconequus and her buff dragon wife anyway. Overall, they have been successful in protecting what the Element of Kindness most cared about.
