Now, after years of research, Princess Twilight Sparkle has finally produced a solution: The SecurU sack, designed to comfortably restrain prisoners without the need for cells or dungeons.
A marvel of engineering, the SecurU sack is a mix of technology and magic: the outside is constructed from threads of flexible steel, with the inside being lined with a material similar to fleece blankets that’s infused with magical enchantments; when worn, the sack’s magic causes the user’s body to become photosynthetic, needing only an hour of exposure to sunlight in the morning, noon, and late afternoon to be supplied with all their energy needs (the glowing parts on the sack are flexible solar panels); no longer do they need food or water, and the only waste their bodies give off is oxygen. Coupled with charms that clean the wearer’s skin, prisoners can be kept in the sack indefinitely (the longest time spent in the sack during testing was five months with no medical or mental problems).
While the sack’s magical abilities are impressive, it also offers formidable security measures: When worn, the suit’s weight can be magically adjusted to add anywhere from twenty five to five hundred pounds to the wearer’s body, making it extremely tiring to move, or even wiggle (for safety reasons, only very strong species, like minotaurs or diamond dogs, are subject to the heavier weights). This, coupled with the sack’s strength charms and steel construction, makes escape virtually impossible.
Despite the sack’s formidable abilities, they are not designed to be cruel or uncomfortable. Testers repeatedly noted that the soft lining and adjustable weight produced a calming effect. Some reported that they even enjoyed wearing the sack, and subsequently asked if they could get one of their own. While some officials have questioned the merits of having a comfortable outfit for criminals to wear, Twilight Sparkle reminded them that the goal of the penal system is rehabilitation, not torment or cruelty.
With the completion of testing, the sacks have been deemed a massive success and are expected to be distributed to penal institutions nationwide within the next month.
