Here we have Cold Front reading yet another book on aerodynamics cover to cover. Throughout her pre-teen and teen years, she ran herself quite ragged learning everything there is to know about flight, hoping she could find some way, any way, to accomplish it without the aid of wings.

At one point, when she was very young, probably about 11 or 12, she tried to make her very own pair of wings out of felt and popsicle sticks, climbing a tree and getting ready to jump, her heart fluttering. She was gonna fly, she was gonna make her mama proud.

Needless to say, this did not end well. She wasn't found until several minutes later, lying on the ground, concussed and sobbing. The tears were only partially out of pain, however. Her attempt had failed, just like everything else she did.

This incident ended her ambition to be the first flying Earth Pony, and lead to her tendencies to give up easily on tasks that seem difficult.
