“Alas! The brave and glorious Scarlet Rose will save the day!” Brilliant Blood Rose grinned, proudly holding up a plastic sword.

“But I don’t wanna be the princess!” Appletini protested. “Why can’t I be a knight like you? Or a dragon?”

“We can’t both be knights silly, someone has to be the princess that needs saving!” Rose giggled. “And Rudy’s already the dragon!” She held up her stuffed dragon.

“Can’t Windy be the princess an' then we can both be knights?”

“I’ll pass,” Wind Flash deadpanned, not even looking up from the book she was reading. “Rose asked to be the knight first, Tini. You have to listen to her.”

“Yeah! I make the rules and I say y'all gotta be Princess Sundrop! No buts!”

“It’s not fair!” Appletini whimpered and pouted. “Why can’t I at least be a prince?”

“We’re both fillies!” Rose countered. “We can’t play the boys’ parts!”
