This group's had a bad experience with bringing in someone new to the table, but on the off chance that it works out between all parties involved, there's something to be said for bringing in new blood.

DM: Sorry it's a bit cramped. I don't often have a nine-person table.
Shining Armor: 's all good. I've been packed in with more guys in a smaller space at my local game store, so this is fine.
DM: That's… a horrifying thought.
Shining Armor: Yeah, that's not something we did twice.
Twilight Sparkle: Well! We're all here. Shall we get started?
DM: Uh, isn't that usually my line?
Princess Cadance: Right now?
Shining Armor: Do you not want to chat and catch up first, or…?
Twilight Sparkle: <yawwwn> Sorry, I just didn't get much sleep yesterday. You'll be in town for a little while, right? We can do all that catching up later.
Shining Armor: Fair enough!
Applejack: We've had a habit of runnin' long the last few sessions anyway.
DM: Fair enough.
