One Friday afternoon, after another day of classes at Canterlot High, Rarity has just finished packing her textbooks back into her locker and is about to make her way down the rather desolate hallway when her younger sister, Sweetie Belle, excitedly approaches her. The lavender-haired freshman has just returned from a field-trip to the abandoned rock quarry near Camp Everfree (which has been converted into a tourist attraction a few weeks after the camp’s Crystal Ball) and wants to share as much info about the trip with her sister as possible before they have to head home. Being the good older sibling that she is, Rarity patiently listens to everything Sweetie has to say and even displays genuine interest in certain facts, such as how more magical crystals were discovered in the caves while the rock quarry was being turned into a tourist site. Near the end of the conversation, Sweetie reveals that she got Rarity something from one of the gift shops: a necklace with a yellow-green jewel pendant in the shape of an 6-point star and matching gem studs lining the collar, adding that not only did the seller tell her that it was made from some of the magic crystals found in the cave, but it also has the power to place it’s wearer in an eternal state of happiness and bliss. Although she greatly doubts this last claim, Rarity nonetheless admits that the necklace looks beautiful and agrees to try it on, subsequently taking off her geode and placing it in the pocket of her blouse. What the fashionista doesn’t know, however, is that not only is everything her sister said about the necklace true, but it also has the ability to make its wearer blissfully obedient and submissive to whomever gave it to them. Sweetie Belle, on the other hand, knew this detail all along and purposefully bought the necklace just to mess with her elder sibling for a little while…….
The moment Rarity places the necklace around her neck (commenting that it feels a bit tight), its magic swiftly takes hold of her mind, as evidenced by her sapphire blue eyes turning the same shade of yellow-green as the necklace’s pendant. The purple-haired teen soon feels an overwhelming sensation of happiness and peacefulness, but at the same time, she feels a strong compulsion to just mindlessly obey whatever her younger sister asks of her. Seeing that her plan seems to be working, Sweetie Belle expresses her delight that Rarity likes her present before coyly asking what she wants to do hen they get home. Giving a big grin, the brainwashed fashionista then cheerfully replies by saying that she’d pretty much like to do whatever Sweetie Belle wants her to do and offers to perform several tasks for the younger girl, such as cleaning her room, giving her a mani-pedi, or singing a song for her. After taking a moment to think (noting that their parents aren’t going to be home until later that night), Sweetie says that she’d her sister to dress up in a ballerina costume and dance for her. Rarity chipperly agrees to this and adds that, although she doesn’t own a ballerina costume, she can just buy one at the mall. Pleased by this, Sweetie then instructs Rarity to follow her as she begins to make her way towards the door leading out to the student parking lot, with her mind-controlled sibling walking briskly behind her. All the while, Sweetie mentally notes to herself how fun bossing her sister around all afternoon is going to be……
