Backstory: When she was young, Flora had no idea what her destiny would be. She started out in ribbon dancing, which she was very talented at, but she was too scared to perform it in front of everyone. She also got teased a lot for her inability to fly by her peers, and the only friend that she could rely on was Skateboard Jo after she stood up to the bullies. One day, when Skateboard Jo performed her Sonic Skateboom for the first time, Flora was so impressed by it, that she fell out of the clouds and found herself in a garden full of unhealthy plants. After taking care of the plants, the plants magically restored to their normal health, and Flora earned her cutie mark for it. Skateboard Jo eventually found Flora after the performance and stayed with her since.

Around the same time that Flora and Skateboard stayed in Ponyville, they also met Kai and trained with him. Because Flora was too shy to admit that she had feelings for their master, Skateboard had no choice but to admit it to their comrades DJ Emo, Uni-Candy, and Lolly Pop, causing them all to realize that they had the same crush on Kai, which was what formed their friendship. Whenever they weren't training with Kai, the five would play harmless tricks on him. During Flora's training with Kai, she became more confident enough to express herself in public.

Even after their training with Kai was over, Flora still kept in touch with her friends. However, when the Nirik King was about to return, she had fears and doubts about it as she refused to take part in the war, but she changed her mind when she met Sugar Mele after the latter encountered her pet chomper plant named Venus and nearly got attacked by it.

Thanks to her and her comrades' friendship with Sugar Mele, Flora was brave enough to face the Nirik King and defeat him with the magic of friendship. Because of Kai and Sugar's inspiration, she has learned to become a much better pony and stand up for herself, and her friendships with Kai, the Awesome 6, and the Ponyville Pals have been stronger than ever.
