Mulberry checks the rope enchanted with the protection spell. She remembers measuring out a circle of about 5ft with it. She supposes she could simply stretch the rope across a doorway or a hall as well, though she won't know if the thing will work until she tries it.

Remembering she has the seed, she finds an dead, shriveled flower on the windowsill in the kitchen and pulls it out. She then replaces it with the seed and gives it a bit of water.
