My mane is normally loose, except after performances or practice when it goes all hectic. It’s much easier to manage when it’s just brushed back.
Of course, for some performances Rainboom ((http://rainboompony.tumblr.com/ )) styles my mane — as well as the mane of every other Wonderbolt — and even though they normally look really good, I often brush it back into its regular style afterwards.
