In this alternate universe, Twilight was born with a malformed horn and couldn't do magic. She also didn't knew Celestia personally. The element of magic, which she stole, provides her with magic only when the other elements are around, but she found out it can also absorb magic from other ponies. The downside is that using it also absorbs her vital energy, so it doesn't last forever, and overusing it would result on her death.

Queen Celestia finds out she stole the element and notices the opportunity to find the other elements, which she couldn't do herself, so she decides to face Twilight off and try to convince her into helping. During the battle, Celestia fakes her injuries and attacks and just waits until Twilight tires herself out.
