Mary's ears perked up as she wandered down the hall, being able to hear muffled cries and screams. While following the noises she realised it was coming from the princess' bedroom. It was 11pm, the last time the mares spoke was 7pm.

Flurry Heart said she'd have a sleep after her bath. Screaming didn't sound like sleeping. Maybe she could have been arguing with the prince? She did say that once she woke up she'd try talk to him. But the screaming only sounded like it was coming from one pony, and they certainly were not the screams or cries of a stallion.

Mary looked around the hall for any guards on night patrol, to her surprise there were none around her. She crept up to the door and placed an ear against it, the screaming and crying clearly coming from Flurry. As well as small whimpers, there were small crashes as if objects were being knocked over. Mary was able to tell that Crystal Shield was not in the room and began thinking, is there an intruder?

Without hesitation, Mary took a couple steps back and charged towards the door. She hit her head on the crystal door and shockingly it opened with ease, implying it wasn't locked.

Mary Rose: Princess?! Are you okay?! she exclaimed, trying to see where Flurry Heart was in the room

Princess Flurry Heart was sat in the middle of the room, tears flowing down her cheeks. She could hardly speak.

Flurry Heart: H.. Help Me! -she squeaked

Mary squinted, attempting to see what kind of condition the princess was in. Flurry's hair was a mess, along with her coat. The room had a broken lamp and smashed vase.

Mary Rose: What's happening to you?

Mary galloped over to Flurry, placing her hooves and wings around her to comfort her. She moved some of the hair from the princess' face, revealing her green and red eyes. Purple smoke seemed to be also flowing from her eyes in addition to tears.

Mary's seen this before. It was just what King Sombra had. She looked at Flurry's horn and confirmed her worst fears, the empress of the Crystal Empire was being corrupted.

Flurry Heart: G.. guards.. -she whispered, trying to fight back

Mary patted Flurry's shoulder then screamed as loud as she could, nearly losing her voice in the process.

Mary Rose: GUARDS! THE PRINCESS IS IN DANGER!

Her voice echoed down the hall, and within seconds a team of crystal guards bolted to the princess' chambers.
