"Is that a zap apple?"

"Yeah."

Diamond Tiara watched her. A smile formed at the edges of her mouth. "They're really rare, you know."

Apple Bloom's smile faded. "I've got a problem. Or- well, we've got a problem, Tee."

Diamond's expression completely dropped. "Oh," was all she managed to say.

Almost a year ago, they'd decided to try. To give life together a shot. But there couldn't be any strings attached, not after everything that'd happened when they were kids. It had gone shockingly well- perfect, almost. She couldn't lose Apple Bloom now.

"I'm not sick of you," Apple Bloom finally blurted out. "At all. I'm… actually pretty in love with you, it turns out."

Diamond Tiara couldn't speak. They embraced, tears at the edges of their eyes, and held each other until the sky was dark.
