"Yes, I am" Twilight replied, "thank you for helping me today"
"I had to, the doctor said you should rest, no work and no stress, is bad for the babies" Eventide proclaimed, in a voice conveying a matter of fact.
Twilight chuckled lightly, she'd been on a strict regiment of rest ever since her last doctor's appointment. Doctor Lavender Light had informed her and her partners of the babies' progress, she'd also discovered they showed high signs of magical potential and immediately assigned Twilight to rest for the remainder of her pregnancy. Sometimes all three of them would cuddle before the fire to keep warm and listen to Eventide's chatter, however, there were times when Tempest and Moondancer were busy. On such days, Eventide was left in charge of ensuring that she not raise a hoof for anything. So far, they'd read Silver Mirror: Changing Tides, four Daring Do books and Twilight had even taught Evie some basic Old Ponyish.
All in all, it had been a relaxing day, but Twilight had noticed Eventide's behaviour seemed worried, sad perhaps. She noticed her brushing off her worries and concerns, opting to steer the topic elsewhere,
"Evie," Twilight began, "Is something wrong? I've noticed you've been a bit down in the dumps"
"Me? Down, don't be silly momma. I-I'm fine, I'm happy. I-II'm sorry," "
"Evie
"Please don't be mad. I can be happy, don't bottle me up" Eventide cried, her breathing accelarating slightly
"Eventide calm down. Remember, one star, two stars, three stars, can you say it for me,"
"O-one star, two," sniff, "star, th-thr-three stars"
To Twilight's relief, Eventide's almost breakdown had not escalated and had instead calmed.
"Do you feel safe?" Twilight questioned
"Mhmm"
"Ok good, what do you see?"
"The stars in your mane,"
"Good, what do you hear,"
"Your v-voice,"
"What do you feel?"
"The rug,"
"Lovely, feeling better?"
"Mhmm. Thank you momma"
"Your welcome sweetie. You wanna tell me what's upsetting you?"
"You don't have to if you don't want to," Twilight said softly
"Will you and Tempest still love me the same after the new babies come?" Eventide asked, her eyes holding emotion
"Wha-Of course we will. Why would you think we wouldn't?"
"I just though tha-that since I'm not your real baby, you'll leave me w-when the new babies come, cause they're yo-you're real babies" Eventide answered, her voice gradually lowering
"Oh honey, the new babies aren't gonna change anything. Tempest and I will love you just as much as before, we'll still read you bedtime stories and kiss your injuries away. We'll always love you Evie, nothing's gonna change that"
"You promise,"
"I Pinkie Promise, cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye," Twilight stated, "how about we finish these dew fruits and start on Daring Do and the Fortress of Days?"
Eventide sniffed, "Okay momma,"
Hey friends
Here's a moment during Twilight's pregnancy with the twins, Dusk Shine and Comet Glory. Eventide's worried about Twilight and Tempest abondoning her in favor of the babies but Twilight's here to assure her of that never happening. I wanted to show how, even after leaving Starlight, Eventide still has that lingering fear of being bottled up. I also went with a new look for Twilight, what do you guys think?
