Treehugger wasnt completely sure how she came to conceive Eucalyptus. The laid-back pony had been visiting the Crystal Empire with her dearest friend Fluttershy when one morning, while completing her early morning meditation, she stumbled upon an odd looking crystal. It was in the shape of a unicorn horn and it was absolutely beautiful to Treehugger. She turned the crystal horn into a necklace and wore it just about everywhere. One night, she had an odd dream. A scary looking stallion came to her and said he would give her a 'gift' and that she would 'continue his legacy'. Over the next few weeks, Treehugger could feel something growing within her. Going to the doctors, she found out she was pregnant! The mare, with complete amazement, thought nothing serious of it. In fact, she was overwhelmed with joy at the thought of having a baby. Of course, when she told Fluttershy the news, Fluttershy immediately turned to Twilight. The princess was shocked by the news and began to inspect this 'crystal horn'. Twilight confirmed that it had some kind of powerful magic attached to it that likely formed the child within Treehugger. Though Fluttershy and Twilight questioned if she was concerned about having some 'magical being' growing within her, Treehugger would not let that get in the way of her having the child. Over the following months, Treehugger kept her body extremely healthy, meditating more frequently and doing all kinds of aromatherapy.

When Eucalyptus was born, Treehugger was terrified that she wouldnt survive. The tiny mare was barely breathing when she arrived into the world. Frantic, Treehugger ran to Fluttershy, crying in desperation. Fluttershy didnt know what to do, but Discord did. The draconequus helped to keep Eucalyptus stable and though it took a long, stressful week, the tiny foal was finally healthy.

Throughout her younger years, Eucalyptus feel ill often but she was never sick for long periods of time. Each time the mare even had a slight fever or cough, Treehugger would frantically find a way to help her dearest child. As she grew, Eucalyptus became stronger and quite the scholar. She is incredibly intelligent, easily casting high level spells under the instruction of Twilight and likes to practice aromatherapy, making new scents with different effects. Her biggest challenge in life is well, finding out where she came from.
