Harlequin is the deity of desire, a tricky wish-granting figure who may choose to grant your wish outright or throw in an unpleasant little twist — it all depends on how you comport yourself. Here, they stand in balance between the land and the water, pouring wine between two cups to remind us all to stay in flow and not do anything to excess.
