This is my take on changeling hives, nothing official, and I don't think there is even a consensus among fans as to what hives, if there are others, are like.

Note that Hasbro and the official comics have only shown that there is ONE queen and her drones, and nothing else. It lacks variety! And I'm loath to ignore all the other changeling queens out there as OCs, so there's that.

I've always figured that since changelings are shown be insect-like (as the comics describe their birth, long ago,) the hives are either bee-like or ant-like. Hasbro seems to have gone with simplified bee-like (queen and drones.)

I honestly prefer ant-like for the added variety. ;p
