Ev breathed a sigh as she indulged in the night air on one of the castle’s balconies. The sky was an odd hue, like part of it had died, and there was a strange tension in the air. Finally deciding it was best to make her way back to her sleeping quarters, did the young mare find herself in the presence of something sinister. The result of a war lost within a pony made it’s presence very clear. Ev quickly shifted her gaze from the sky to behind her, only to find her brother and the current King of the Empire long gone, replaced by a parasite of devilish temptations. If she had ever read Satan’s signature upon a face, it was that of the “new” king. His eyes held nothing more but greed for power, and Ev knew immediately that he would gain full royal authority if she was no more. She called to what she hoped was still her brother and friend, but it was as if an animal within him licked the chops of his memory clean, and he wanted nothing more than to kill.
