Gently edge away from Moonflower then go back to Crystal to ask her more about how gems work, what's with the protective ones having had an offensive effect, for how many hits they will last, how quickly they will recharge, etc.
You roll a 16 (required 10). Success!
You manage to slip out of Moonflower's embrace without waking her up. You gently slide off the bed, and make your way outside, headed to the marketplace.
As you arrive at the Enchanted Table, you are greeted by Crystal Charm.
Crystal Charm: "Hello again, Blazer! Where's Moonflower?"
You tell Crystal Charm that Moonflower is resting at your house.
Crystal Charm: "Aww, that's considerate of you. So, what can I help you with?"
You tell her that you gave the pink sapphires a try, and that you are still confused about how they work. You ask her how to make sure they aren't destroyed in battle.
Crystal Charm: "That's a good question!
Pink sapphires cast ward spells, which are blasts of magic that push away objects. The strength of the spell depends on the gemstone's size, and its recharge rate depends on what you're wearing.
In your case, if you're planning to use your horseshoes as your main weapon in battle, you'll want to dress light, if at all. The less you're wearing, the better your body's magic flows, and the faster your gemstones will recharge.
Of course, that means you'd have to rely entirely on your hooves, and in close quarters, that's risky. Hoofingold might have more to say about this."
