I… don't know what kind of monster it was, but it was large, and black as night. I turned and ran as fast as I could, but once I made it back here, I realized I had dropped the sword.

My mother won't let me go back. She… says it isn't worth the trouble. Not that I'd have the courage to… but… that sword is a family heirloom, and the guilt keeps me awake at night.

I heard you were an adventurer, and I saw you training earlier. You're strong… both of you. I envy you. Do you… do you think you could help get my father's sword back? I'd be eternally grateful."
