I guess that to start us off, we could ask a cleric to fill us in on how the city works, what takes place here, why this place is so downright creepy, etc.?

Having proven helpful in the past, you decide to look around for a cleric.

On the corner of a nearby street, you find a tall, handsome stallion in a red and gold uniform coming your way. He takes notice of your group as you approach, and stops to greet you amiably.

Cleric: "Ah, travellers! You seem a little lost. May I be of help?"

You introduce yourselves to the stallion, and admit that you are at a loss.

Cleric: "I am Zinfandel, a cleric of the Order of Dawn. Tell me of your doubts, and I will do my best to shed light upon them."

You start by him asking about the city in general.

Zinfandel: "Where to begin? Elysia is the capital city of Midgard. It was founded about five hundred years ago by King Empyrius himself who, upon arriving here, formed the Order of Dawn.

The magnificent Cathedral of Dawn has been standing atop this mountain ever since, housing the High Throne, where the Crown is seated, the Court of Judgement, where disputes are settled, and the Academy of Virtue, where ponies such as I come to study and train to become clerics and paladins.

Over the years, though several camps have grown into well-established towns, Elysia remained the economic centre of Midgard. Providers gather resources from all over the island and bring them here, where our best researchers and manufacturers transform them into quality goods, ready for distribution."

You remark that despite all of that, you have yet to find any entertainment in the city, and wonder if you are missing something.

Zinfandel: "Entertainment? Ah, the Midgardian way of life must well differ from what you are used to. To put it simply, most ponies here find purpose in productive work, and believe that such distractions are a nuisance to progress."

Smoke: "Most ponies, you said? Well, what about the rest?"

Zinfandel: "Not everyone agrees with the notion, of course. After all, any light casts a shadow. To my knowledge, the few who reject these values choose to live in seclusion, where they can peacefully practice their own."

Moonflower: "Do ya know where they go?"

Zinfandel: "I believe they have a refuge somewhere under the city. In an agreement between them and the Order, we have no presence there, save for a few clerics they trust.

And while I have faith that foreigners such as yourselves would be more than welcome, I would be remiss to have you visit; without paladins in the area, we could not well guarantee your safety."
