Out of all these options, the Wooden Olisbos is definitely the most curious one. What is it for? What does it do? It sure seems smooth. Maybe it's something nice to play with and find out, together with our best friend
Knowing how shy Honourshine can be around other ponies, you feel determined to help her take comfortable first steps into adulthood. And so, with your gift nicely wrapped, you head back to the orphanage.
Once again, you find the orphanage in a festive mood. All around you, colts and fillies dance and play, while Matron Kindleheart bakes a new batch of delicious treats for everypony.
After meeting with Honourshine at the heart of the party, you offer her your elongated gift, then watch eagerly as she opens it. Her expression shifts from confusion, to shock, to amusement.
Honourshine: "Always thinking ahead, aren't you? Well, thank you, Blaze. I'm sure I'll figure this one out whenever the summer heat gets to me. Here, I've got something for you, too."
Honourshine hooves you an elongated present of her own, albeit quite larger in size. You curiously open it to reveal a toy befitting any young adventurer: a sturdy wooden shortsword!
You get Wooden Shortsword!
You thank Honourshine in kind, not missing the chance to share an affectionate hug with her. While a weapon may not stand the test of time as well, you are no less excited to do battle against hordes of imaginary monsters later.
And so, years quickly begin to pass. When you aren't spending time with your best friend Honourshine, you are bonding with other colts and fillies your age. And although you are content with all that you have right now, you can't help but wonder what more is out there.
That is, until one day, you receive a letter of acceptance from the Equestria Exploration Society. Before you know it, you stand at the edge of town, and everypony is there to see you off. Next to you, Honourshine offers a teary smile, destiny calling her elsewhere.
Honourshine: "Blaze… We'll meet again someday, right?"
You promise. As a parting gift, you close your eyes. Your forelegs gently wrap around her neck. You feel a hoof run through your mane. Then, for a tender, yearning moment, your lips meet.
The sound of ocean waves snaps you back to reality.
You find yourself standing on deck with the rest of the group as your sailboat reaches what seems to be a clearing in the fog. You barely have the time to regain your senses that a majestic sight comes into view.
From atop a small island just ahead, an unimaginably large ash tree dominates the entire clearing. At its base, giant roots weave into the ground like mountains, and among them lay mossy stone ruins, long reclaimed by time.
Thousands of intertwined pillars form the trunk, around which twinkles a field of multicoloured magical stars. And, far above, a ceiling of countless branches covers the sky with overgrown leaves, and merges with golden sunlit clouds.
Everypony watches in amazement as the isle slowly gets closer, until Rocket Rush decides to break the silence.
Rocket Rush: "So, am I the only one who had the weirdest dream just now? It was like somepony forced me to relive a bunch of embarrassing things I did as a filly."
Moonflower: "Ooh, I had some sorta vision about my past, too!"
You mention that you had a similar experience, and though it feels like you've relived your entire childhood, it appears that no time has passed at all.
Justice: "Could it have been this Midgardsormr creature testing us? Well, whatever the case, we all made it here, so he must have decided to let us through."
Rocket Rush steers the sailboat next to what appears to be the remains of an ancient dock. After casting the anchor and tying a rope around a piece of nearby rubble, you all disembark.
You've finally made it to Yggdrasil! Now, all that's left to do is figure out what you're actually supposed to do here.
