FLURRY: Hi! I mean…hello. I mean…greetings! Yeah, that's the one—I've heard Auntie Twi say that before. Greetings, citizens of the Crystal Empire. It's with great honor and privilege that I, Princess Flurry Heart, officially become coronated as your ruler. You know, if that's okay with you…I shouldn't say that, I'll just end it with uhh…thank you! Thank you.
(She bows awkwardly and looks up.)
How was that?
Zoom out. It's revealed that she's in her room talking to a pile of stuffed toys stacked on her bed.
FLURRY: Yeah, you're right. It needs more pizzaz or something. You can stop the judgmental face, Whammy, I'm trying my best here.
A knock on the door. Flurry uses her magic to swing it open.
ROYAL GUARD: Good morning, Princess. Your aunt is requesting your presence.
FLURRY: Be there in a flurry!
She shuts the door again with her magic. The guard waits for a moment before she tumbles out and whisks past past him. She flies over to Twilight Sparkle who is greeting a pony entering the castle, Rarity.
FLURRY: Auntie Rarity!
RARITY: Ah, how lovely it is to see you, darling, and still looking fabulous as always. I'm absolutely adoring those lashes on you, très fantastique!
FLURRY: I learned from the best.
TWILIGHT: Good to see you again, Rarity.
(They hug.)
How's everything? Are your girls adjusting alright after the move?
RARITY: Somewhat. Moonberry would still prefer we'd never left Manehattan but little Amethyst is doing quite well all things considered. The biggest hang-up is now that their father's not next door to spoil them every weekend, I've been trying to teach them some humility by cutting back on just some of the excess. They seem to be confusing generosity with gluttony, and I keep having to remind them that a great dress should always be generous with its rhinestones, but never to the point where it becomes tacky. But, enough about me. I've come with some sweets.
(She uses her magic to lift up Flurry's new dress from her suitcase.)
A Rarity original made specifically for you, darling. You're going to look dazzling up there on your new throne tonight.
FLURRY: This is beautiful! I love the sparkles…ooh, and the trim…and the colors! Thanks, Auntie.
(She hugs Rarity.)
TWILIGHT: Uhh…Rarity? That's a beautiful dress—as always—but where's the regalia?
RARITY: I'm sorry what, dear?
TWILIGHT: The regalia. You know, like what I'm wearing. What all princesses of Equestria wear.
RARITY: That's what you wanted me to make? Twilight, dear, I am not a blacksmith, I can't carve a crown! I could design a rather fabulous one, though…Oh! Is that what you had in mind?
Twilight groans and face-hooves.
TWILIGHT: It's fine. I guess Flurry can wear some of the older ones we have tonight and you can work on a design for later on.
RARITY: I'll get right on it. See you at the coronation!
She races off. Twilight turns to Flurry.
TWILIGHT: We can get you fitted in some of Cadance's old regalia.
FLURRY: Oh, are you sure? I don't—I don't think that's a good idea.
Twilight sighs. She gently places a hoof on Flurry's shoulder.
TWILIGHT: She'd be really proud of you today—Shining would be, too. I know you don't believe it, but they would.
FLURRY: Thanks, Auntie. Can I…can I have a moment?
TWILIGHT: Of course, take your time. There's still a few things I need to take care of here in Canterlot before we can head over to the Empire, anyway, so I'll get out of your mane. Oh, and have you had breakfast yet?
FLURRY: Not yet.
TWILIGHT: Flurry, we talked about this. If you don't eat breakfast, you could cause major intestinal issues—
FLURRY: I know the horror story. I'll get to it, okay? I promise.
TWILIGHT: Okay. And remember to drink water. You're not really good with keeping up with your water intake and I don't want you to faint from dehydration—
FLURRY: I've got my water bottle right here.
(She lifts it up with her magic.)
TWILIGHT: Okay. Oh and—
Spike flies in and intercedes.
SPIKE: Stop Twilighting.
TWILIGHT: I'm not Twilighting, Spike. I'm the Ruler of Equestria, I don't do that anymore.
SPIKE: The time with the chickens—
Flashback. The castle is overrun with chickens. Twilight is hovering above her friends pouring chicken seed into their manes.
TWILIGHT: CLUCK CLUCK, little chickens! Come eat from my friends!
Cut back.
TWILIGHT: That was last month.
SPIKE: The sandwich crisis.
Flashback. Twilight is sitting in a massive pile of sandwiches.
TWILIGHT: We're never gonna starve! NEVER!
Cut back.
TWILIGHT: The month before that.
SPIKE: Library. Gate.
Flashback. Twilight is in the Canterlot Library; hair on end and eyes wide and frazzled.
TWILIGHT: IF ONE MORE OF THESE BOOKS FAILS ME, BY CELESTIA I SWEAR I WILL REDO THE ENTIRE DEWEY DECIMAL SYSTEM!
Cut back.
TWILIGHT: The month before that month. Okay, I Twilight once a month, but can you blame me? This is Flurry's coronation! This is a big deal!
SPIKE: Being the Princess of Friendship is also a big deal. Go do your duties.
TWILIGHT: You're right. Okay, see you both soon.
She flies off. Spike turns to Flurry.
SPIKE: So, how are you feeling, Flurs?
FLURRY: Okay. Totally not on the verge of a breakdown since I'm only hours away from succeeding my parents and inheriting all their former responsibilities with no way of knowing if I'm ready for this or if they'd even think I'm ready or anything. Hee hee hee hee—nope! I'm good.
SPIKE: Oh no, you're Flurrying.
FLURRY: Don't you dare start that.
SPIKE: Look, you've got nothing to worry about. There's not all that much to being a princess, I feel like it's more about attitude than anything else.
FLURRY: You and I both know that's not true, being a princess is so much more than that.
They begin to walk through the stained glass hall. They pass through windows depicting the CMC, the Young Six, Celestia and Luna, etc. They settle before the window depicting Cadance and Shining Armor, with the one depicting Twilight right beside it.
TWILIGHT (off-screen): SPIKE! I need you for a second!
SPIKE: Be right back.
Flurry stares up at the windows, scanning her eyes through all the ones showing the princesses. She focuses on the window with her parents and sighs.
FLURRY: Mom…Dad…today's the day. I don't think I'm ready, and the last thing I'd want to do is disappoint anypony, but how am I supposed to get up there and pretend like I can be any bit as good a ruler as you both were? Celestia and Luna had each other, you guys had each other, Auntie Twi has her friends—and what do I have? I don't even really have friends, and I know everything about friendship! I live with Aunt Twi and she's the princess of it for crying out loud! And I know she and Uncle Spike are always there for me, but once I leave the Canterlot castle, I'll be on my own. There won't be anyone with me. And I know I'm not a filly anymore, I should be able to handle being on my own, but I can't. I can't imagine not having Auntie Twi by my side when I need her—for everything from ruling questions to just when I've had a bad nightmare and I need her to reassure me. I don't want to let her down, but I'm just not ready. How could I be ready? I'm barely been allowed to leave the castle!
Without warning, a burst of light shines through the stained glass window. Flurry squints, shutting her eyes for a moment and slowly opening them to see the tips of Cadance's and Shining Armor's horns illuminated. The light coming off them seems to lead directly to another window; the one depicting Twilight and her friends defeating Nightmare Moon. Flurry gasps.
FLURRY: She was just like me until that day. I think I know what I have to do. (She starts to fly away, but returns and hovers in front of the window.) Thanks Mom and Dad.
Spike swoops in beside Flurry.
SPIKE: Okay, so like I was saying. All Twilight does most days is attend public gatherings and press conferences—
FLURRY: Sorry, Spike, back in a flurry!
She zooms off.
SPIKE: Wait, a flurry means a lot. Flurry, a flurry means a lot!
Twilight flies in beside Spike.
TWILIGHT: Actually, a flurry can also mean a brief period of excitement, you know besides the snow definition. But uhh…why were you saying that?
Upstairs, Flurry opens her bedroom window.
FLURRY: Alright, Ponyville, here I come!
She jumps out and flies away.

Here's the first part of Episode 1 Part 1. That's right, first part of the first part. I decided to go ahead and show the first ep without introducing more characters because we've pretty much met everyone who will be in the first few parts. I also really wanted to share some writing because that's one of the main things I do irl so I've been excited. And also also, my Flurry Heart plush came in today and she's absolutely adorable so cause to start the FlurryVerse. A quick note: I didn't think I'd have any of the other Mane 6 besides Twilight in so early on but it just made sense for Rarity to be here. Plus you get to see where Flurry's love for lashes and glam came from. That being said, Rarity's mane was configured in hell (and by that I mean it's a gorgeous design and an absolute horror to draw. So many folds!) so uhh…might be hitting copy and paste on that mane.
