In an age before alicorns, there lived an ancient race of Equine, called Incadequus. Descendants of the sun itself, they were the former movers of the sun. Rising it, and setting it everyday as a collective group. The main family branch name was called 'Sundown', being the name of the first Incandequus to live on the planet, thousands upon thousands of years ago. They were created onto the earth by the sun, and woke up to a beautiful sunset.
One of the main differences between a normal Equine and an Incandequus, is their heart. It keeps their physical body alive, but also harbors the entirety of their soul inside it.
The name of their race Incandequus is a mixture of "Incandescent" and "Equus". The name sounds out as: "ɪnkanˈdɛkwʌs" precisely.

All Incandequus are potentially extremely powerful, in terms of abilities and physical power. All Incandequus are at their utmost powerful when the planet is closest to the sun in orbit. They are completely immune to fires and flames, as well as any solar-based attacks, UV Emissions, Electromagnetism, & Solar Radiation, and Nuclear Radiation. If another Incandequus is nearby another upon death, that Incandequus can inherit their soul and lifeforce, only temporarily. This causes an Incandequus' power to almost double in power. It is only ever temporary, though, as afterwards—The soul is returned back to the sun, to their afterlife.

Despite their power, most Incandequus are now extinct. Forced into a demented pocket dimension of extreme horrors and killed off one by one, by an external, hungry force from a higher dimension. Their souls reaped and consumed, unable to ever return to their star. But there have been outliers inside the pocket dimension, still trying to escape even after thousands of years of entrapment, still trying to survive being consumed, waiting and endlessly hoping for a savior.
Because of their extreme, sudden decrease in population, Incandequus became irrelevant and redundant. As sometime after their disappearance and extinction, the ancient race was replaced by the Sun goddess Celestia, easily filling in the void they had left with their untimely demise.








Veen Sundown of course, is part of this ancient clan of Incandequus, being part of the main branch of the family. She's heavily skilled with all sorts of weapons, mainly being swords & greatswords.

However, she was sent to Tartarus at an age of 18 due to a mishap concerning demons and rituals, and turned into a demon herself. She entirely missed her race's extinction by a few years.

It was nearly 4 years, until she came across a blade from a faraway land, dubbed "Aalst, Scimitar of Society Preservation", which had made its way to the underworld by demon thieves trying to harness the power of the blade.

Veen managed to escape by utilizing the powerful blade. Severely underestimating the sheer power of the blade she possessed, the blade created a massive portal being a kilometer wide in the sky of Tartarus, causing an uncountable amount of other demons to converge into the portal. Entering it caused her and the other demons to be put into a safe-guard; A stasis put in by an Overseer of Tartarus, delaying their arrival on the earth by nearly 3,000 years.

After the arrival, Veen had to adapt to this new world. Learn new languages, culture, and the frustratingly small houses she has to navigate with her massive stature…Not only that, she had to learn of this blade's power and purpose, so she could use it to undo the chaos she brought upon the lands with all the demons strife on the continent.

She used the blade to purge the demonic population from the lands, and had many hurdles to cross. While being a demon herself, she had to also avoid those trying to kill her for it. Veen fought for the land she plagued with demons, fighting tooth and nail to undo the mistake she caused. And eventually, she even purged her demon blood from her body, being a full blooded Incandequus once more. Sometime in the middle of the demonic incursion, she was conscripted into the Equestrian Military Force, finally recognizing her talents. After the land had been rid of the demonic force… Veen had been in an intense battle during service, an incident that left her brain damaged, inhibiting her speech, thought process, social skills, and bit of her eyesight. She was never the same mare again after that, but she still held strong, having to live and suffer with her newfound disability, never to return to who she once was.

And even after all this time, she wonders…What had ever happened to her people?
