Autumn Blaze stepped delicately through the foliage, the cool air of evening nipping at her bare flesh. She wasn't entirely sure where she was going, nor why. She only knew that, on some unknown cue, she'd slipped out of the village, abandoned her clothes, and let her hooves take her where she needed to go.
Needed to go. That was the word for it. On some, distant level, she felt as though she'd made this journey before, though she couldn't remember it. As much as that notion screamed at her, pleading to be noticed, she couldn't help but push it away. It didn't really matter. Only getting there, wherever there was, mattered.
The circle of her thoughts was broken when she caught a gleam in the forest haze. Something bright, something golden, glowed in the distance, and she immediately picked up her pace, even as her body began to grow warm and heavy. She needed to get there. To the glow. To it's owner. To serve. To worship.
Autumn wasn't aware of her legs as they knelt, nor her hands as they rose in reverence. Her entire focus was on the impossible, entrancing beauty of the pendant that hung before her, and the divine, striped silhouette standing just behind it. She remembered everything now. The deal she'd struck. Her return from exile. The oddly happy acceptance of her tribe. The price she'd paid. . .
It was the best decision she'd ever made, of that she had no doubt. At least, not anymore. Autumn bowed her head and murmured reverently, "I've returned as commanded, Mistress. How may I worship you tonight?"
