Birdie is a huge fan of camping and hiking, an interest she can thank her father for. Because she always wants to spend time with Rumble, the perfect outing for them usually consists of a hike outside of Ponyville and a picnic halfway through their day. Her dad made sure to encourage this love of the outdoors, buying her a starter kit for her birthday with all the essentials, including walking boots, a safety vest, first aid kit, a compass, and binoculars. Hiking gives Birdie two things that are very important to her: quality time with Rumble and quiet time away from other ponies.
