1. To those who werent there when i live updated Star-Swirl the Bearded, i made him blind. I headcanon unicorns to have a 'limit' to powerful spells, the longer and more powerful they use a spell the more they slowly go blind. Alicorns break the average 'limit' that unicorns have so its not applicable to them.

Anyways, Unicorns who were assigned to raise the sun and moon Pre-Equestria lost their eyesight a lot, and back then a disability like that made them worthless in a society constantly harrassed by snow spirits. Star-Swirl was able to create the first rendition of braille, a spell that translates writing into brail and a spell that can be casted around the horn to detect close objects/ thermal shapes. It is also one of the only spells that can be casted for a very long duration. I like to think that it sounds like a low buzzing sound when casted.

Azure: Around 5-12 years he identified as questioning, Azure didnt know why but they didnt want to be called a 'girl'
Around 12-17 Azure identified as NB and was fairly into the goth/metal subculture. He was very edgy and made his parents worry, especially Fluttershy.
Around 17-26 he stopped dressing in black and indentified as a trans male.((he still listens to metal)). He quieted down and is completely embarrassed about his teenager years.

Southern Belle: She has always been frumpy looking, when she was 13 she started getting into fashion and makeup, but her frumpy aura and extreme makeup clashed hard, she was a teenager and embarrased to ask her mom for help.

At 18 she decided to take fashion and makeup more seriously and now looks completly different from her teenage years.
