As many ponies know, dragons are powerful beasts, often becoming very protective over their property. While many ponies may believe such behavior to be a sign of greed (and in many cases it can be), it is natural for young dragons to develop a fondness for shiny objects and gather them into piles.
This replicates behaviors seen in the wild, and encourages young dragons to grow.

“Ok so this is a good thing then?” Shining Armor peeked his head around the door, taking note of how the dragon-pony hybrid was sprawled out on the pile of loose change and game tokens.

“According to this book it is…” Princess Cadence sighed, closing the leather-bound travel journal she pulled from the library.

“Okay then! Well he isn’t hurting anyone with it, the guards actually find it rather funny.” Shining sighed, scratching the back of his head with a hoof. “It can’t be any worse than Flurry’s mood swings when she was a little filly…”

“So we should just… let it be?”

“I guess. But I think we should still ask Twiley… If anything Spike may have an idea as to what we should do.”

The two chucked as they heard the coins rustling through the door. “Alright, well you do that, and I will deal with Flurry, she is rather pouty since he has “hijacked the gaming stash”.
