Tox knew Miu since they were kids, because their mothers were very close friends (as well as Equestrian heroes haha). Tox watched Miu grow up, get confident, and then get that confidence bullied out of her, which made change her style to be more provocative, to try to gain some popularity. Eventually with the help of aunt Fluttershy and her best friend, Toxoplasmosa, Miu regained some confidence, but by that time her personality had transformed completely into a bitchy, teasy, slutty mare with a god complex, but with almost zero confidence in herself or her talent. That is why Tox vowed to protect their friend, and even help her in her love affairs.
