> Candlewick
> Name: Candlewick
> Parents: Twilight Sparkle X Discord
> Race: (Draconequus/pony hybrid) Otherwise known as a Kirin
> Cutiemark: An unlit candle. Represents untapped potential.
> Talent: He has great magical abilities, but prefers science. He gained his cutiemark when he realised that magic wasn’t unstoppable, it had its limits, so he decided to take up science and test the limits. Science has the potential to do anything after all; just like himself.

> About: (I wrote this bio first so there's a bit of repeating in there)
> Being the child of the Element of Magic, and the Spirit of Chaos, it’s obvious that he would have immense magical abilities, and for a time, that was all he needed. But the saying: “You don’t know what you have until it’s gone”, rings very strong for Candlewick. He realised very young, that while magic is powerful, and a great thing to have, it can be taken from you. Learning this from watching his father annoy his mother by taking her horn, and then hearing stories of how even his father once lost his magic. So, he decided he would pursue other areas as well. Namely Science. Intellect is something that can’t be taken from you, and science has proven to be just as or sometimes even greater than magic. So if he can master science, he will be even greater than his mother or father, should any of them ever lose their magic.

> He pursues science so much now; it’s become sort of an obsession with him. He’s trying to outdo magic. Find something that is impossible for magic to complete, and prove that science can do it.

> His best friends are the children of the mane6 because they were forced to hang out with him growing up. He gets along best with Golden Fantasy, mainly because she doesn’t seem capable of hating anyone. Then again, she’s always lost within her mind, but Candlewick has the ability to see her imagination, so it gives them a connection. He quite enjoys Toothy’s company; he’s a huge imaginary alligator who’s her pet. He’s sort of scary looking, but a sweet heart. Toothy is always by her side.

> He has not so subtle feelings for Rainbow Dust (Dusty). Because she is pretty, and he admires her determination. Being an Earth Pony with such a famous mother like Rainbow Dash is hard on her because she can’t fly, so what good is she? But she makes up for it by being the fastest runner the world has ever seen. She on the other-hoof thinks he is annoying, weird, and a freak. But tolerates him because he hasn’t done anything super horrible like try and take over the world. And as her mother has told her time and time again, you can’t hate someone for how they look.

> Apple Spice is hard to get along with, she’s constantly causing fights and is often causing Candlewick pain. Though only when he’s being an idiot (which is all the time in her opinion), but she still cares about her friends…Maybe… It’s hard to tell. He’s not even sure she thinks of him as a friend. He’s pretty sure she only talks to him because she needs to keep up appearances for the times when she occasionally needs ingredients for her potions. (Draconequus claw or horn is very hard to come by after all).

> Mozart (or as he has more commonly named him; MozzieBite), is someone he absolutely hates. Mainly because Dusty prefers his company instead of his own. Mozart is a real gentleman when you meet him, but for someone who knows him, he can be a bit of a prick. He likes playfully teasing everyone. Sometimes taking it too far because he thinks it's funny. One of the worst past times he chooses to do is verbally spar with Apple Spice, pissing her off further for the fun of it when everyone around them would really prefer if he did not piss off the angry little enchantress. But you wouldn’t guess any of this because he is absolutely perfect in public. It’s weird for his friends to see him like that because it’s so out of character for him.

> Beaureguard is a very recent and new friend for them all. He’s quiet, and doesn’t understand their cultures, given the fact that he lived in the sea for all his life. He’s a seapony after all. He is a friendly pony however, but when he sees them hating on each other, and then calling each other the best of friends, it doesn’t make sense to him. He does however find Candlewick to be alright company. He’s odd for sure, but they share similarities in that they are both very different to everyone. However, where everyone in town likes to avoid Candlewick for his chaotic background and trouble causing, most everyone is very open to meeting Beaureguard because of his exotic background and handsomeness (what would you expect from the son of Rarity). So this does cause a small gap between them where Candlewick feels hated by the town. But he’s smart enough to not hold that against Beaureguard. It’s not often that he makes friends, and he’d prefer to keep all the ones he’s [https://www.deviantart.com/torusthescribe/art/Candlewick-528775291#](https://www.deviantart.com/torusthescribe/art/Candlewick-528775291#)got.

> If it wasn’t for Candlewick, most of his friends wouldn’t hang out with each other. Apple Spice only seems to be able to get along with Golden Fantasy because they are distant cousins, and because Goldie is the only pony who never gets mad at her. Mozart and Rainbow Dust were instant friends growing up like their mothers, and probably would have ditched Apple Spice and Goldie if Candlewick wasn’t so determined to keep his friends.

> He doesn’t like being alone. He wants friends because he is an outgoing person; confident in his actions, but he needs socialization. It’s a necessity for him otherwise he’ll fall into depression. He can’t do what his father did; laugh everything off and make his own fun, he can’t pretend that he’s alright. He sucks at lying; especially to himself, and he sucks at pretending. He’s very open and honest and loves company. So he’s always been the foil that tightly wraps his friends together so they can always hang out and never leave. (He doesn’t force them to hang out obviously, but he’s often there bugging them to join him to go somewhere and brings the others along too). It’s become so common to be together as they were growing up, that even though they fight and basically hate each other’s guts, they can’t help but want to hang out anyway because it’s what they’re used to. Like a habit.
