As she continued on her way, Rarity suddenly heard a familiar voice. “Rarity, wait up!” She had to stop and turn her whole massive body around to find Twilight waddling her way over. Looking nearly as huge, she stuffed the last of one burger into her mouth before moving on to her next.
\
Rarity simply smiled back as her friend caught up and slowed to a stop. “Twilight, when you said everyone would be staring at us, you made it sound like it was a bad thing!”
\
Twilight just rolled her eyes as flashes of embarrassing moments from the previous semester came back to haunt her. “Trust me, it’s worse if you’re the only 600-pound student around here,” Twilight swallowed hard as she explained.
\
“Oh, I’m sure they just needed time. Now that there’s two larger-than-life students here, everyone's going to appreciate how grand and immense we are.”
\
As Rarity said this, however, Twilight could practically feel the stares of everyone passing by, almost piercing into her flesh as she heard their muddled comments surrounding her. She can only imagine what they were thinking upon seeing her, now over a hundred pounds heavier. “Well, I’m sure you got the immense part right.”
\
“I just can’t explain why, but all this attention is just getting me so giddy!” Rarity giggled, seemingly ignoring what her friend just said.
\
“To be fair, you were stuck inside for like a year,” Twilight pointed out before taking another bite of her burger.
\
“Ooh, look! There’s a camera! Smile!”
\
“Wait, wha-? Oh.” Before she really had a chance to prepare herself, Twilight awkwardly gestured and smiled towards the photographer while Rarity waved with such enthusiasm, letting her bingo-winged arm wobble back and forth.
\
Without even saying a word, the random photographer ran off just as quickly as he appeared. “You’re welcome!” Rarity cheerfully called out. “Who was that anyway?”
\
“Someone from the journalism club,” Twilight said as her face fell flat. “Pretty sure we just made it to the column. How grand.”
