This is what the writers and staff behind My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic should’ve done with Grogar’s character in Season 9 instead of making him a joke by having him be Discord in disguise and lying to the fans about Grogar being the final villain of MLP G4!
My version of Grogar in my own better version of Season 9 is the equivalent of Magneto and Thanos from MARVEL. His motivation for wanting to rid the world of ponies, for starting a war between Tambelon and Equestria and having the creatures turn against the ponies is that he blames the ponies for the deaths of his parents and wife, as well as the suffering they had caused to his people in Tambelon: the creatures by robbing them of their land which was none other than Equestria which was the original Tambelon according to my alternate universe which was originally the land inhabited by creatures before the Unicorns, Pegasi, and Earth Ponies drove them off of their homeland instead of moving in with them peacefully and renamed it Equestria because back then, ponies and creatures were against each other due to racism until Twilight Sparkle opened the School of Friendship to teach friendship not just to ponies, but to creatures in the hopes that both ponies and creatures would unite and end their hatred and fear with each other.
My version of Grogar is the anti-Twilight who uses friendship for evil and refuses to be reformed because he hates the ponies for his loss and he had to be killed because he was a major threat to the world and I portrayed him as the ultimate evil who traded his soul with the god of Tartarus in exchange for immortality and the ability to control dark magic and necromancy in which Grogar used to threaten Equestria. He didn’t used his necromancy to revive his wife, Rosanna, because he didn’t want her to get killed again so he chose to avenge her death by killing off Starlight Glimmer’s ancestor, Vesper Shine, who killed Rosanna when he and the other ponies attacked Tambelon.
Not only is my version of Grogar the arch rival of Gusty the Great, but he’s also the former brother figure, childhood friend, and arch nemesis of Starswirl the Bearded and not only was he portrayed by me as the strict and abusive guardian and former master of Discord, but I also portrayed him as the archenemy of Twilight Sparkle and her friends as well as her husband, Courageous Heart since Grogar is the opposite of Twilight because he uses friendship for evil.
