> There once was a golden sun and a silver moon, they watched over the land of harmony for many centuries after being gifted "light" by the tree of harmony. Under their reign, the land flourished. The ponies who lived there built towns and cities, expanded their knowledge and began to find their purposes in life. The sun and moon, the celestial sisters, may have had their differences but they ruled with kindness and benevolence, just the two of them.
> Then came the midnight star, another gifted with "light", another sister. The golden sun quickly took her in and the silver moon warmed up to her, welcoming her to the celestial family. With the midnight star came six others chosen by the tree of harmony, shining with "light", they too were welcomed.

> There was harmony… but it wasn't meant to last.
> Soon came the beast of chaos, threatening the delicate balance within the land of harmony. The midnight star, the chosen guardian of harmony, was tasked with defeating the beast and protecting the land.
> She did so with bravery and valor, alone.
> She won, but at a cost.
> The land and those who lived there survived but the tree of harmony was shattered by the beast. The midnight star had fallen, their "light" extinguished, and the six followers fell along with her. Now without the tree to shield it with "light", the land would surely die. As the ones who had watched the land since its beginning, the celestial sisters could not stand to let it die like the other lands around it. They began looking for a solution.
> The golden sun found one, a way to revitalize the land!… at the cost of her life.
> "Please, sister, the sun and moon cannot be separated!" cried the silver moon.
> "Do not worry, little sister, they will remain together," the golden sun spoke softly. "I will give you the sun. The land, my "light". It must be done."
> "You know that is not what I meant!" sniffled the little moon. "… I can't go on without you."
> "And yet, you must. For the ponies, for the land, for the very tree that had granted us its "light". I have been here longer, it is my burden to bare."
> "Let us go together then, you shouldn't do this alone-"

> "A time will come where a new "light" will shine and you must be there to greet it, to nurture it, lest the land fall to eternal "darkness.'"
> "If a new "light" will come, why must you go?"
> "I will buy the new "light" time to arrive, to grow. It is but an ember now, it will become a brilliant fire in time…" the sun grew silent before continuing. "Or, if not cared for correctly, it will blaze across the land like a wildfire, destroying all in its path before "darkness" consumes everything it leaves behind."
> "How will I know when the "light" is here? When it is ready?"
> "You'll know, don't worry…"
> "… it's time… isn't it?"
> "… yes it is…"
> "So, this is goodbye?"
> "No, dear moon. You may hold the sun and the earth on your shoulders but I will be still be here. My body will turn to dust, return to the stars and watch over you."

> "… I love you, Tia."

> "I love you, too, Luna… Goodbye…"
> The golden sun, in a flurry of sparks and glowing oh so bright, was gone. Just as she had said, her body turned to dust and flew away among the night sky. The moon bowed her head, no longer a blue abyss but a dusky purple, for now she held the weight of the moon, the sun, and the earth… alone.
> *"You may have meant comfort when you said you'd be among the stars, dear sun. But they are now a reminder that I cannot walk with you, that you are so close but I can never feel your warmth again. It hurts to look at them, hurts to look at you, Tia…"
