Story: Discord and Chrysalis were never in love but they did at one point want to work together to take down Celestia and Luna and seize control of Equestria for themselves. Strong emotions with a partner, romantic or not is often enough for a Changeling and a Draconequus to lay an egg. Chrysalis laid the egg, when she noticed the colour of the egg she knew it belonged to discord and abandoned it, assuming the egg wouldn't even be strong enough to hatch.

Little did she knew Celestia was walking through the wood were Chrysalis abandoned the egg when it hatched. Seeing the little foal, Celestia couldn't leave it to die and so she took the filly in and claimed it as her own. Canterlot staff begged their princess to see reason, it was obvious that this filly was Discord's offspring and its eyes looked suspiciously like Queen Chrysalis's. Celestia refused, no one is born evil, this was her daughter now and she would make sure the filly was well looked after.

Celestia called the filly, Jade Fey because of the colour of her mane and the shape of her wings. She could eat normal food much like any other pony which settled a few of the palace staff. The filly proved to be joyful and playful in spirit, wanting to spend time with her mother or 'Antie Luna' in the palace gardens. She first showed that she had an ability for magic while planting flowers with one of the gardeners. Her chaos magic was good for helping her to keep critters away from growing plants and she could treat the negative effects of the poison joke flower.

Celestia refused to tell anyone who the fillies real parents were, even if she believed she knew. Afterall, Fey was happy. She was upset when Luna was banished but she understood why it was needed. She helped Celestia to raise the moon at night, even if it took a lot of magic for her to do so.

When she became a teenager, it was reported that the Everfree forest was invading the neighbouring towns. Celestia asked her daughter to attend, believing she may be able to tame the plants. She could. Fey was confused, as far as she knew, no pony could tame the wild plants of the Everfree. Celestia finally admitted to Jade that she wasn't a normal pony. The young Princess didn't know how to react. Celestia showed her the statue of Discord in the Canterlot Gardens and explained that because of how she looked and the abilities she had, Celestia assumed Discord was her real father.

Jade needed time to process and asked her mother to leave her alone. Slowly she came to terms with the fact that while Celestia may not be her biological mother, she was still her mother. The only parent who had stayed around for her. She finally returned to Celestia and said that she understood why her mother had been afraid to tell her the truth. Celestia thanked her daughter for her understanding.

Jade was crowned Princess of the Everfree Forest, she took residence there and helped to maintain the plants and wildlife so they could never become out of hand again.
