> This is an idea that I've had brewing for quite a while now: What if the changelings had their own holiday? In the season 8 episode "The Hearthswarming Club" during, each of the student six share the holidays and festivals that they celebrate around the same time as Hearthswarming eve.
>
> The ponies have Hearthswarming Eve of course.
> The dragons have The Feast of Fire.
> The gryphons have The Blue Moon Festival.
> The yaks have Snilldar Fest.
> The hippogriffs/seaponies have The Three Days of Freedom Celebration.
>
> But the changelings, well, they just adopted Hearthswarming as their holiday. Which is understandable. Being under the tyrannical rule of Queen Chrysalis for so long, it's doubtful that the changelings had much of an identity outside of being essentially parasites that absorb love out of other creatures. But if you ask me, it feels kind of cheap when you consider that Hearthswarming Eve is a celebration that literally has nothing to do with the changelings themselves. The holiday was formed from the three pony races coming together in friendship to stop an eternal winter caused the wendigos. And while you could argue that friendship (And therefore the holiday) extends to all creatures, I think the changelings could easily come up with something else, especially when you consider the momentous event that occurred at the end of season 6. The changelings learned to give love instead of taking it, and all of them changed for the better. I don't know about you, but that sounds like a reason to celebrate.
>
> Enter Ocellus. She is now the changeling queen and has grown significantly since being a young student at the School of Friendship. And the kingdom itself has grown along with her as has made many noteworthy improvements. The hive is bigger, vibrant, and more prosperous, the kingdom now has an official emblem/crest to represent it, and now most importantly the changelings officially have their own holiday. The Season of Leaves is a new celebration observed by the changelings. It commemorates the events of the season 6 finale, when the changelings learned to give love rather than take it and became free of Chrysalis' tyranny. The changing leaves in the autumn season represent the changelings themselves all changing into different vibrant colors. There is a feast consisting of foods made by various families, a gift exchange, and a dance overseen by the queen herself. It is a celebration truly dedicated to love and giving.
>
> And ultimately that's my idea. I thought it'd be fun to give the changelings something all of their own, and show how much Ocellus has grown as a ruler. Any thoughts? Leave a comment below.

> By the way, in case you guys are a bit confused by the background, they are in the hive underground in Ocellus' throne chamber. A small forest has grown inside of it, and it even comes complete with a beautiful waterfall. Also if you look closely, you can see banners sporting the new emblem. Just a little clarity. :)
