"Oh Maribelle, what have you done now?"
The mare's voice cracked as she spoke, tears falling down her face.
She looked down at the foal between her hooves, they sleeping peacefully and stretching in their sleep, and then looked at her surroundings.
She was sat in front of a hat shop in the middle of the night, crying her eyes out and holding a newborn child. Her newborn child.
She managed to crack a smile looking at the foal again, tears still streaming down her eyes.
"At least you look warm and cozy." She chuckled before frowning, starting to cry again.
She took a deep breath, sighing. She had to do what she came to do.
She lifts and gently places the foal into a basket she brought with her, picking it up and starting to trot towards Manehattan's orphanage.
She sets the basket down at the end of the steps, making sure the foal was still sound asleep. She gave her a kiss on the cheek and placed a tag in the basket with the foal, it having her name, blood type, and other notable things to know about her.
She knocks on the door three times, hearing hoofsteps approach. She leans forward to whisper into the foal's ear one more time.
"I love you, Cozy Glow."
Maribelle is a random background character that I felt looked like a good contender to be Cozy Glow's mom lol.
She was one of the actresses for the "Hinny of the Hills" play in "Rarity Takes Manehattan." and has also been in a couple of flashbacks that Granny smith had.
Maribelle was at the height of her career when she found out that she was pregnant. She felt like she'd either have to give up her career to raise her child, or continue her career without her, and she wasn't ready to stop or be a parent.
She left little Cozy Glow on the Orphanage steps that day, knowing that she'd never see her again. At least she thought, until she heard that her little filly was encased in stone.
Its kinda cliche all things considered, but coughcough*StillABetterOriginStoryThanStarlight*coughcough
Jokes aside I didn't expect this to be part of the Auraverse lol. I originally intended to just draw it as its own thing but I wanted to add a different wing color to cozy so suddenly everyone got different markings LMFAO
