Description:

Heliosphere, occasionally called Helios, grew up a rather sheltered colt in Cloudsdale. His father owned one of the most successful weather factories at the time, and from a very young age was expected to take over the buisiness once his father retired. The colt had no interest in doing so however, and secretly made plans leave Cloudsdale and study astronomy. The colt had been mesmerized by the stars and planets since a very young age.

His plans were put on hold when he met the young filly Bay Breeze. She had taken a part-time job at the weather factory (his father was not above hiring fillies and colts for work) to support her and her siblings once their mother left. Heliosphere and Bay Breeze became instantly inseparable, confiding in each other their dreams and secrets. Helios become Bay’s first crush and swore to always be by his side. Plans changed when Helios got his cutie mark after a night of stargazing with Bay and showing her various constellations. This solidified his desire to pursue his passion, and confessed to Bay the next day that $3 would be running away to Canterlot to get a proper education. As much as she yearned to follow him, Bay knew her siblings depended on her to keep them afloat. The pair said a tearful goodbye and went their separate ways, still keeping in contact via letter.

Heliosphere’s mother passed away giving birth to his younger brother, Twinstar, shortly after his leave. The loss of his mother drove Helios to become more isolated and introverted, and he and Bay lost touch completely for a number of years. It wasn’t until his father’s passing, leaving Helios as the one to care for his brother, that he reached back out to Bay who he discovered was also living in Canterlot now.

Currently, Bay and Helios have rekindled their bond, though he has no romantic interest in her. Bay struggles with this at times, but pushes her feelings aside for the sake of their friendship. She often foalsits for Twinstar when Helios is busy studying or traveling.
